On Friday (2025.04.04), Guilherme and I had the privilege of visiting Villány. A charming small town located about 40 minutes from Pécs by train.
One of the tourist attractions of our trip was the Bormúzeum és Gál Pince, where you can step back 200 years into the fascinating history of winemaking. The museum shows a unique collection of vintage wine-making machinery, and of course, you can also enjoy tasting a several labels of local wines.
An obligatory stop is the Zso-Li Borház, where we met Miss Melinda. She's a kind and expert host who guided us through a lovely wine tasting. We spent over an hour there, enjoying not just the wine, but also her engaging stories and insights into the local wine culture. The cellar is beautiful, and the wine is simply the best!
Don't forget to explore the local cafés (there are plenty of great options!), and make sure to visit the old church near the train station. It's a peaceful spot that adds to the town's charm.
I greatly recommend visiting Villány for a relaxing day with family or friends.
You can easily get there by bus from next to Árkád or by train from Pécs, and the Hungary Pass is valid for the journey.
