In August, the Kapocs World Games returns, inviting young people of Hungarian heritage from around the world to share knowledge and connect as a community. A key part of the program is the Kapocs Academy, the game’s official online knowledge series, which gives participants the chance to deepen their understanding of Hungarian culture, history, and national heritage. These experience-based lectures not only help participants prepare for the competition, but also foster community and strengthen Hungarian identity.

Between August and October 2025, the Kapocs Academy held a series of online lectures for young people with Hungarian ties giving them a clearer picture of Hungarian history, culture and values while becoming part of an open, supportive community.

The program covers topics such as turning points in Hungarian history, cultural heritage ranging from folk traditions to literature, national symbols, and the past and present of the Hungarian Diaspora.

The series’ opening lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. habil. Gábor Szécsi, patron of the Kapocs World Game. As Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Teacher Training and Rural Development at the University of Pécs, and as a communication researcher, linguist, and philosopher, his work focuses on the examination of the relationship between language, communication, and communities. In his lecture, he shared insights closely aligned with the academy’s mission: sharing knowledge, building community, and reinforcing the values of Hungarian identity.
